Monday...The reality is: pundit platitudes are massive grief.

I'm developing a model of my academic research and again became interested in visualizations and representations of reality - however diverse, hence the embedded video above. ‘The reality is’ seems to preface every political pontification I’ve endured lately in main stream media – particularly prevalent on TV since the first banshee budget wails began, as a phrase its been utterly overused since the start of the credit crunch. In fact my own reality is creative in a mostly subjective and entirely personal manner, remaining far outside the allegedly true, common or existent narrow ‘ realities’ being hawked by snake oily mouthed morons appearing on TV of late. The reality is… they sound utterly removed from what I know, experience and understand to be parts of ‘my own shared reality’ so please stop trying to graft your consensus based, transparent, politically motivated, constricted and infantile interpretations onto my life by employing equally redundant rhetorical assertions about what constitutes my lived experience.... especially when I’m cranky because I’m digressing from writing PhD materials.

Is that a digital Dagger I see before me Prince ?

Oh yes back in the day, that is the Amstrad day, didn't we enjoy trying to get those dungeon gates to open up while surrounded by sparsely deployed, non the less atmospheric little flickery flame things, many oddly pitched tones and much blank areas punctuated by porous paving .. erm no actually, come to think of it, that just distracted from the right pain that was the repetitious searching for the correct jump spot. All that while hoping it wouldn't crash again (as it often did).

Once my current favorite tune - from Norway !

09.09.09. A happy day where we don’t need negativity right now.

Reports of Irish demise have not been greatly exaggerated, merely branded on the rear quarters of that bolted horse we once called prosperity.
“Could pass for a quote”

I confine my attention to a small creative bubble for a few days and all sorts of offside news carry-on gets going in the meataverse of ole sod generality. Ireland keep world cup hopes alive by beating Cyprus at soccer. The cats of Kilkenny win the All Ireland Hurling final – see you tube stolentelling news report for the ultimate ‘man-up (with sticks) experience’– Non hurler Ryan Tuberty is reported to have intimated in his first late late show interview that the Taoiseach is a drunk. In the wider world’s narrowing interest – Digra (which may not do for the academic ego – what its near namesake does for sexual prowess) extended some hard critical notions about games. Reminding some here of that the intellectual willy waving that ostensibly passed for debate on the McCarthy Report, – ensuring the same economists, experts and commentators not so much sharpen their knives again as pare their crayons for more lyrical waxing about thee latest edition to our National shelf of self help reports – the 500 plus page report from (Warning next link is to actual large PDF copy of the report which may mess up your memory- computer + yours !) the Commission on Taxation.

circle of creative clog

This post might sound garbled in more ways than one.

I am checking out a simple text to voice tool available at odiogo.com - A couple of years ago I was experimenting with speech to text software, as I trained the software, my own unique border inflection and annunciation had a distorting or confusing effect on the tool, it misinterpreted several words and changed the meaning of the poetry I was speaking - This tool feeds into my fascination with loops and feedback - this text is just to check that the tool will indeed pick up my rss feed.

Netpoetic Fun & the world Record breaking Pundit Poetry Generator

I'm really enjoying the netpoetic site, Jason Nelson is a generous, entertaining and somewhat enlightened guy, I will confess I also identify with his sense of humor - check out his videos - if you'd like to learn abit about him and get entertained en route. I will certainly play around with the net poetry / digital lit / interfaces he's developing. I downloaded everything to play with it and while I was playing with his Song generator, some strange ideas popped into my head.

Time Travelling - Get closer to the action

Odd perspective in the commercial/indent for Sky HD – reminds me of Father Ted’s explanation offered to my fictional namesake ‘Father Dougal Maguire’ in relation to some objects ‘being small’ while others ‘were really far away’ !
